Lifetime Achievement Award for George Anderson
Portland, OR December 3, 2010 – The Columbia River Chapter of The Society of Plastic Engineers has awarded an industry pioneer, George Anderson, the chapter’s 2010 lifetime achievement award. The presentation was given by chapter president, Eric Fisher, during the annual PSE Holiday Dinner held at the Portland Airport Sheraton Hotel. George Anderson, a rock in the nursery container industry for the better part of five decades, was cited for remaining on the cutting edge of new technology, enumerable patents to his name, and continuing his R&D into better product offerings at Anderson Pots.
When asked about the future at Anderson Pots, he explained, “I’m on a ten year plan and I'm only two and half years into it.” Over the last two and one half years, there have been many changes and upgrades at Anderson Pots including: · Appointment of Rick Anderson as the company’s vice-president · A new company web site – www.andersonpots.com · Upgraded color advertising in trade publications · A massive investment in state-of- the-art Huskie injection molding machines · New tooling for many products to reduce costs. · Introducing Anderson’s biodegradable Eco Choice containers · Introducing Anderson’s first black recycled Polycans · Adding Kyle Webster and Josh Hock of Innovative Rep Solutions Northwest as outside salesmen to service and call on local nurseries
Needless to say, George’s 10 year plan is making the company’s future look more and more bright. More improvements and upgrades are in process. Congratulations on the award!
